JOB SUMMARY

THE ROLE

The HSE Officer ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across construction sites, facilities, and offices. Responsibilities include implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, providing training, and promoting safe practices. The officer investigates incidents, reports findings, and recommends corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
THE ROLE
- Implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Provides expertise in the field of Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Security.
- Responsible for inspecting, identifying, assessing, and advising on risks arising from the workplace or work processes, recommending measures to eliminate or minimize and control the risks and implementing the measures.
- Prepares detailed HSE inputs to meet contract requirements. Reviews the contract documents for each construction package in respect of safety requirements and procedures and advises the Project Manager of any deficiency.
- Ensures that the project is following safety procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
- Develops and implements HSE procedures for the Company (e.g., Inspection, Emergency Preparedness, Workplace Safety, and the like) and standards to maintain and update the HSE Protection plans of the Company.
- Ensures that the Contractor’s safety training for site laborers is regularly maintained. Ensures contractor’s laborers on-site are following safety procedures and reports to the Project Director in case of deficiency.
- Closely monitors site activities daily via preparation and issuance of non-compliance and inspection reports.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets and all other HSE documentation are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Participates in meetings to ensure that EHS policy is implemented by Contractors.
THE INDIVIDUAL
- Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety), Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Others), Nursing, Others, or equivalent.
- At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Preferably Supervisor/5 yrs. & up Experienced Employee specialized in Engineering - Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
- Amenable to work in Tanauan, Batangas
- Drive and can motivate other members of the team.
- Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create a working team environment and to build trust with all stakeholders.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
