JOB SUMMARY

The Commercial Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing contracts, and ensuring commercial success within the waste management sector. This role involves developing business strategies, negotiating contracts, maintaining strong client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities to enhance profitability and operational efficiency. The Commercial Manager will work closely with internal teams, including operations, finance, and compliance, to ensure service delivery aligns with commercial objectives.

 

THE ROLE

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to drive business growth and profitability in the waste management sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including tenders, partnerships, and client acquisitions.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee pricing models, cost analysis, and revenue forecasts to optimize financial performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, corporate clients, and industry partners.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to adjust business strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure service efficiency and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Work with finance teams to track budgets, revenue targets, and financial KPIs.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, waste disposal policies, and industry standards.
 

THE INDIVIDUAL

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a commercial management role, preferably in waste management, environmental services, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of waste management regulations, industry trends, and sustainability practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop business strategies and negotiate high-value contracts.
  • Excellent financial acumen, including experience with pricing models, budgeting, and revenue forecasting.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant industry software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be amenable to work in Pampanga
 

PREFERRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Experience working with government contracts and regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of circular economic principles and sustainable waste management practices.
  • Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into commercial strategies.
  • Pampanga native is an advantage
