JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the commercial management of work packages collaborating with package managers and reporting into the project commercial lead. Provides risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms, mitigating risks and protecting work packages and project margins through cost control systems.

THE ROLE
  • Responsible for the commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement to final account.
  • Procures subcontract packages and materials, including collating tender documentation and administering tenders.
  • Accountable for commercial package management and reporting to the Commercial Lead.
  • Establishes cost control systems, including the administration of client and subcontractor changes.
  • Develops and maintains risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms.
  • Mitigates risks and protects package/project margins.
  • Enhances profit by identifying opportunities through change and cost-reduction measures such as value engineering.
  • Calculates quantities and costs of materials, time, and labour for tenders.
  • Negotiates contracts and work schedules.
  • Provides advice on legal matters, including risks and disputes.
  • Monitors subcontractors and various stages of construction.
  • Reports on costs and prepares accounts for payment.
  • Stays up to date with construction methods and materials.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and building regulations.
  • Responsible for the structure and/or fit-out of specific areas or packages, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Conducts measurement/quantity take-offs for civil, structural, architectural, external works, and MEPF services.
  • Prepares comprehensive and adaptable Bills of Quantities.
  • Assists the Project Quantity Surveyor in the negotiation and evaluation of variations and other contractor claims.
  • Assists in estimating and cost planning based on conceptual design, schematic design, and detailed design stages of the project.
THE INDIVIDUAL
  • Working as part of the construction delivery team, take direction from the construction lead and project senior leadership team.
  • You will build relationships to manage and influence stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • You will build a strong working relationship with your clients and support the construction lead in turning the client’s vision into a deliverable onsite plan.
  • Responsible for the commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement to final account.
  • Procurement of subcontract packages and materials including collating tender documentation & administering tenders.
  • Accountable for commercial package management and reporting to the commercial lead.
  • Establishes cost control systems including administering client and subcontract changes.
  • Establishes risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms.
  • Mitigates risks and protect package/project margin.
  • Enhances profit by seeking opportunities through change and cost reduction measures such as value engineering.
  • Operates and collaborates as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
  • 2 to 4 years of cost and commercial management (CCM) experience; preferably from a consultancy background with pre and post con experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable on different SMM.
  • Must be knowledgeable on BoQ preparation and measurement.
  • Must be amenable to be assigned in any of the following work locations: Rizal or Laguna
