Cost & Commercial Lead

JOB OVERVIEW

Accountable for cost management on a construction project or program, including profit & management risk and governance. Advises on appropriateness of various procurement routes. 

• Leading the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with the overall vision and objectives.  
• Directing the preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses to achieve formal execution by appropriate parties.   
• Leading operations that are fiscally and ethically viable, influencing the achievement of business objectives that align with business and legislative compliance obligations. 
• Advises on appropriateness of various procurement routes. 
• Advises on administrative procedures necessary for the project. 
• Manages procurement process and reports on the outcome.  
• Accountable for overseeing a commercial team.  
• Responsible for cost and contract management in a timely manner. 
• Agrees variations and claims including final accounts.  
• Ensures CVR targets are met, and profitability of the project is achieved. 
• Develops relationships with clients and consultants with future work in mind.  

• Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.  
• Ability to proactively identify costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges, and present these to clients. 
• Management experience within large, diverse teams.   
• Experience in managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.   
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on. 
• Detailed knowledge in most forms of contract. 
• Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction. 
• Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration and contract management. 
• Capex & Opex Cost analysis/advice. 
• Strong numerical and time management skills. 
• Attention to detail and able to validate and check data and draw conclusions.
• Must be amenable to be assigned in any of the following work locations: Rizal or Laguna
